Everything We Know About Pescador
Pescador was designed and built by John Lidgard for Derrick (Don) Chapman of Henderson. But he only owned her for a short time before he sold Pescador to Sir Keith Park. Chapman and Park had trained and flown together during World War Two.
A Waitamata Woodys commenter recalls his father owning Pescador in the early 1980s. They remember cruising the Marlborough Sounds in Pescador with their young family. After their father sold Pescador she was moved to Havelock where she was lengthened to create a bigger cockpit. Vinings Shipbrokers Ltd., listed Pescador for sale in the late 1980s. She was also listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace in August 2023.
Since the late 1980s not much is know about Pescador but she is thought to have a 6 cylinder 120hp Ford diesel engine with Paragon hydraulic gearbox 2.1 reduction. She has also been spotted in the Nelson Marina.
