Everything We Know About Rata
Rate was built by Claude Wells at Little Bay for Ernie Duckworth of Pelorus Sound. Claude Wells and his family lived at Little Bay between 1906 and 1911 so it can be guessed Rata was built somewhen around then. Not much is known about Rata but it is thought the Duckworths would have sold her before they left the Sounds for Murchison in June 1929. Ernie would go on to run a fish shop for many years.
