Mahau and the Sounds Mail Run

In the 1970s and 1980s Dave Hayes owned the Mahau. He used her in the Queen Charlotte Sound for family holidays and trips. Hayes also used Mahau to take Fred Greig the Anglican vicar down the sounds for church services.

  1. My Uncle Rob Lister purchased this Mahau many years ago after it was converted to a ford diesel,Did a big refurb on the cabin etc,It was moored at Seaview Petone for many years then moored at Paremata until sold and went to Whakatane so dont know if it is still about as it was a great old boat we had many trips across the sounds over the years.
