All We Know About The Matai
The Matai was the first boat built after World War Two at Wakatahuri. Built by Norman Wells in a matter of weeks according to his son Colin.
Norman used Matai for commercial fishing before he sold her to Jim Robb of Maude Island.
Later Charlie Jacobson of French Pass brought her.
It is unknown where she is now.
